Sign Language Interpreter
Job description:
This program can prepare students who have already attained
an associate or bachelor’s degree in another field for a career in interpreting
for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing. It emphasizes American Sign
Language, the appreciation of deaf culture and the process of interpreting and
transliterating.
Entry-level salary range:
$10,000 –

Local employment outlook:
There is a continued need for interpreters
and for upgrade training for those already employed as interpreters, especially
in government agencies, health and social service agencies, companies,
educational institutions and community affairs.
